2 Building and Installing Erlang/OTP

2.1 Introduction

This document describes how to build and install Erlang/OTP-18. Erlang/OTP should be possible to build from source on any Unix/Linux system, including OS X. You are advised to read the whole document before attempting to build and install Erlang/OTP.

The source code can be downloaded from the official site of Erlang/OTP or GitHub.

2.2 Required Utilities

These are the tools you need in order to unpack and build Erlang/OTP.
